Camden County Wildcats Players of the Week: 7 Standouts After 35-21 Win Over Brunswick
Seven Wildcats earn weekly honors after Camden County opens the 2026 football season with a 35-21 victory over the Brunswick Pirates.
The Camden County Wildcats have announced their 2026 Players of the Week following a 35-21 season-opening victory over the Brunswick Pirates.
Seven Wildcats were recognized for their performances and preparation across offense, defense, special teams, the offensive line and scout team.
The first group of honorees includes Malakhi Poole, Cedric Davis, Judah Dickerson, Christian Phillips, Raymone Howard, Malek Smith and Mekhi Smith.
The awards come after Camden overcame a weather suspension, a two-day season opener and a halftime tie before taking control in the second half against Brunswick.

Overall Player of the Week: Malakhi Poole
#10 Malakhi Poole earned Overall Player of the Week honors after delivering one of Camden County’s biggest performances against Brunswick.
Poole finished with 151 all-purpose yards, including:
107 rushing yards
44 receiving yards
Poole carried the ball 13 times for 107 yards, averaging more than eight yards per carry, while also providing another threat in the passing game.
His performance helped lead a Camden offense that finished the season opener with 471 yards of total offense and 292 rushing yards.
The Wildcats repeatedly leaned on the ground game as they took control in the second half.
Defensive Player of the Week: Cedric Davis
#7 Cedric Davis was named the Defensive Player of the Week following a productive performance against the Pirates.
Davis recorded:
6 total tackles
4 solo tackles
2.0 tackles for loss
His work helped a Camden defense generate pressure and disruptive plays throughout the season-opening victory.
The Wildcats finished the game with four tackles for loss, two sacks, two quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and an interception.
Offensive Player of the Week: Judah Dickerson
#76 Judah Dickerson earned Offensive Player of the Week honors after helping lead a dominant performance by the Camden County offensive front.
The Wildcats rushed the football 44 times for 292 yards, averaging more than 6.6 yards per carry against Brunswick.
Camden continued to establish the run even when the Pirates knew what was coming.
Head coach Tucker Pruitt praised the offensive line following the victory and pointed to the unit’s execution and physicality as a major factor in Camden taking control of the game.
“There’s nothing like moving people against their will.”
The performance up front helped Camden finish with 471 yards of total offense and five touchdowns.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Christian Phillips
#40 Christian Phillips was selected as Camden County’s Special Teams Player of the Week.
Special teams played an important role in the victory as the Wildcats worked to control field position throughout the two-day matchup.
Camden finished with 111 kickoff-return yards against Brunswick.
Phillips’ recognition highlights the contributions that extend beyond the offensive and defensive stat sheets.
HAWG of the Week: Raymone Howard
#52 Raymone Howard earned HAWG of the Week honors following Camden’s season opener.
The award recognizes the work being done in the trenches, where the Wildcats established one of the biggest advantages of the game.
Camden’s rushing attack produced 292 yards on 44 carries, helping the Wildcats wear down Brunswick and take control after halftime.
The offensive line played a major role in a Camden attack that averaged more than six yards per rush and finished with five touchdowns.
Defensive Scout Team Player of the Week: Malek Smith
#31 Malek Smith was named the Defensive Scout Team Player of the Week.
While Friday night performances receive most of the attention, preparation begins throughout the week.
Scout team players help Camden’s starting units prepare for the formations, tendencies and challenges they can expect from the upcoming opponent.
Smith’s recognition highlights the work that contributed to Camden being prepared for its season-opening matchup with Brunswick.
Offensive Scout Team Player of the Week: Mekhi Smith
#29 Mekhi Smith earned Offensive Scout Team Player of the Week honors.
The scout team plays an important role in preparing the Wildcat defense during the week and creating competitive practice reps before game day.
Smith’s recognition reflects the preparation and effort that helped Camden enter the Brunswick matchup ready to compete.

From Poole’s 151 all-purpose yards to Davis’ production behind the line of scrimmage, Camden received contributions from throughout the roster in its first victory of 2026.
The recognition also reflects the work happening away from the spotlight, with offensive linemen, special teams players and scout team contributors all represented among the weekly honors.
From Brunswick to Glynn Academy
The Wildcats are 1-0 after defeating Brunswick 35-21.
Now the focus shifts to the next challenge.
Camden County returns home to face the Glynn Academy Red Terrors on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 7:30 p.m.
The Wildcats will look to build on the physical running game, defensive pressure and second-half execution that helped secure their season-opening victory.
